They don't have to be great gamers to have fun, but it's best played by people who want to get better. I think you need at least three people screaming and laughing together to take this game to 11! If you've got the people, I really suggest this. I don't think online multiplayer changes that. I'm also not sure how fun it really is online since laughing and yelling and failing and succeeding is what makes this game awesome! It really is best with 3 or 4 friends in one room!It's a great game for multiple people in the same room. But if fortnite can do it, so can overcooked.-It's still a horrible game to play alone. Not only that, but it would have helped the physical price seem a little more palatable if at least there were extra characters included in the physical version!-no voice chat on the switch.

Even more important, everything is clear and it's very easy to tell what everything is.-There is a good variety of characters to play as.-lots of variety in the levels.There are things I don't like:-I don't like how much the physical version is.-I hate that the pre-order bonus was a DLC code and not on the cart because it's now locked to one of our two switches. I wouldn't call the graphics amazing, but it looks good. We could just be better, but I really think the challenge is more balanced.-The graphics are very good. It feels like it's smoother and tighter and they added throwing.-It isn't harder. This second game is more fun and more varied.There are things I really like.-They tweaked the engine. This sequel seems to have more variety and isn't quite as frustrating. In fact, I bought two copies of the physical and am giving one of them away as a gift.The first game is one of our favorite games to play as a family. I have a switch and my kids have a switch. I got this physical because we are a two switch family. Recommend - great game playing and fun yelling as you cook (win or lose.) But we really enjoy the fact this is multiplayer for people sitting on the same couch. I also don't think there's a way to rename Players2, 3, 4 if you're playing co-operative multiplayer in Couch mode, which seems weird.
I do find the controls mostly good, but sometimes it's takes a bit of effort to pick something up that looks like it should be easy.

(Then again, I find myself choosing Switch same-title games over PS4 because they can be taken along with you.) The new ability of throwing stuff to your teammates is great - more so that your teammate can catch what you throw. We opted for the Switch version over the PS4 even though it was more expensive because.well, this is the type of game that's great to have on the go.

Some friendly banter quickly turns into yelling to cook, chop, boil, serve, wash because I CAN'T DO IT ALL MYSELF!Then once you get to 3+ players - it's that, plus the added "GET OUT OF MY WAY" followed by the nonchalantly pushing your own team mate off a ledge to get them out of your way.It's an excellent game. There will be yelling.In two-player mode, when each player has 2-4 things to be doing at any given moment the counter is ticking down, and you just realized that your frying pans just caught fire - it can't be your fault! You were trying to chop some lettuce, so Player 2 is obviously to blame. The fun REALLY comes in play when getting friends and family to play. This is one of the games that, if playing single-player, it's a fun casual/phone type game and if that's what you're into it's kind of pricey.
